The Aquatic Life RO Buddie 50 GPD 4-stage (RO/DI) systems feature unbelievable affordability and functionality, all in a very compact design. Designed to provide a reliable source of economical filtered water for aquarium use, all systems use Thin-Film Composite (TFC) Membrane RO cartridges in conjunction with Carbon and Sediment cartridges to effectively and efficiently remove harmful substances such as heavy metal ions, dissolved solids (TDS), Chlorine and particulate matter from municipal tap water.

- AFFORDABLE DEIONIZED WATER – The AquaticLife RO Buddie is a 4-stage reverse osmosis deionization system designed for residential use. Use RO/DI filtered water for aquariums, humidifiers and more.
- REDUCES TDS TO ZERO – This reverse osmosis water filtration system includes a Sediment, Carbon, Membrane, and DI Resin cartridge. The RO Membrane effectively removes up to 98 percent of the Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) in water. The remaining TDS is removed by the Resin.
- EFFECTIVE SEDIMENT REMOVAL – The 5-micron Sediment filter captures and reduces unwanted particulate material such as sand, silt, and rust from water which affect the taste and appearance of your water.
- CARBON FILTER REDUCES CHLORINE – The second stage of your reverse osmosis water filter is a Carbon Block filter. The 5-micron activated carbon filter reduces chlorine and conditions the water prior to the RO membrane filter.
- COLOR-CHANGING DEIONIZATION (For 4 stage) – The color-changing deionization mixed-bed resin is necessary to reduce TDS to zero in the final stage of an RO/DI system. It uses Cation and Anion beads to remove TDS from the membrane filtered water.

These notes are written by aquascaping.in with many years of experience on selling Aquatic Life USA products and long term feedback from the customers, this is at all useful for you might save you time and efforts and also increase the life of your RO System or give you a better performance:
Case 1:
There is lot of sedimentation in the water such as brown particles which is usually due to high iron in water, or dust which is due to high contamination in tap water
- In such case we have faced issue and feedback from mainly Kolkata (West Bengal) and well as some other parts of India that there is high sedimentation due to Iron, it it highly recommended to install a Pre Filter Single Clear 10-Inch Canister w/Tubing, this will pre filter all the sediments but also is very economical compared to changing the cartridge of the system, hence increasing the light of your RO system as well as adding another layer of filtration. Note: This is not needed if you water is not high in iron or dust.
Case 2:
Some hobbyists want to remove remove Chloramine & Chlorine directly from water via RO system, specially hobbyist who have sensitive fishes / shrimps:
- In such case you can install a Classic Carbon Plus Chloramine 10" Cartridge with Single Clear 10-Inch Canister w/Tubing
Case 3:
I have very high TDS water, above 1800 TDS, will this system work ?
- We have successfully installed RO systems in areas such as Chennai and many parts of Gujrat which have very high TDS sometimes even above > 2000 TDS, our experience has been good, but you should be mentally prepared that the the membrane life will shorten, and it is very highly recommended to use a pre filter Single Clear 10-Inch Canister w/Tubing . Usually in Chennai membrane lasts for about 2-2.5 years without high impact. Now for 0 TDS we definitely mentally prepare the client for higher Di resin usage compared to any other areas in India, but you will surely get 0 TDS water consistently.

Damages and issues

Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods & Live Stock (such as live fish, live shrimps, or live plants), custom products (such as special orders or personalised items). We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases or filled co2 cylinders . Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method. The unit came in and was easy to assemble. It has been running great for the past few weeks and was a very affordable option in an expensive product category. The TDS has been 0 making it ideal for remineralizing and use in my home aquariums.
May have taken years off drinking tap and buying Poland springs but my children will add years to their lives bet ya that water taste much better and this filter is great!
Bought this to make water for my small 15 gallon aquarium. Water consistently measures 0 ppm TDS. It’s dong its job. I have it figured that it takes about 35 minutes to filter a gallon of water. I put the jug in my sink and set a timer. 👍🏻

I was looking for a decent RO system at a reasonable price to help top off my aquarium and get low TDS water for my carnivorous plants. I had never used an RO system before so I was surprised at the amount of waste water this thing produces. For every gallon it filters, I get at least a gallon of waste water. Had I known that, I might have just stuck with a Zero Water filter.When this says that it does 50 gallons per day, think of that as it does 2 gallons an hour. this is pretty slow to fill up my 2.5 gallon water cubes, but planning ahead makes that a nonissue. Trying with and without the deionizing filter does not make a difference. The water does still come out very low TDS without the DI filter, so I might leave that off once it goes bad.Assembly and installation was very simple. There are tubes that connect everything and the filters are all labeled nicely, so it is easy to tell where they go. This will screw right onto my deep sink faucet using the provided adaptor. But, it did seem like a gasket was missing for the adaptor. I had some for my garden hose repair kit that I was able to use to seal it up.
